Servicing fine yachts is a natural outgrowth of boatbuilding. Repairs, rebuilds and servicing ship systems, along with upgrading gear and seasonal maintenance are handled by a division of the company called Lyman Yacht Service (LYS). The LYS team of experienced sailors, circumnavigators and builders understand what proper maintenance is all about. LYS — both at Thomaston and our Tenants Harbor location — might very well offer the full-service you've dreamed about.
Services include:

No project is too big for our skilled Service Yard team. Whether it's a major refit or winter storage, we will perform the job with the expertise and professionalism you expect.

RED SKY is a 100' Swan who faithfully returns to Thomaston each summer for maintenance and repairs. We have recently repainted the hull and rig, dropped the rudder, installed new electronics and new helm station panels plus a number of additional upgrades to the interior woodwork and electrical charging systems.

PUFFIN is a classic wooden Walsted 49' ketch. She came to the yard this year after sitting in a building for 8 years. We redid a lot of the interior paint and Awlgripped to the topsides, installed the running gear and put multiple coats of varnish on her before it she swelled over a period of about a week upon her reintroduction to water. She performed fantastically during the Eggemoggin Reach Regatta this year and we look forward to providing her with many more improvements.

MUGSY is an Lyman Morse built boat. "Mugsy" stores at the yard every other year and thanks to owner and captain the maintenance on the boat is impeccably maintained. With new exhaust elbows last year she was well prepared for another trip south.
PERSEVERANCE is an older wooden boat gets a fresh coat of paint and many other upgrades every year and is launched in superb shape.
FINBACK is a fantastic Seguin 49 that we repowered and installed a new generator in recently.

We were approached by Sue and Tom Tiller who run and manage the 70' power boat ARGENT to do a full paint job on this aluminum yacht. Painting metal boats takes a different level of experience and detail than most other types of building material. There is a critical step in prepping the aluminum properly to avoid any blistering later. This project was a success on all levels and we are very happy to see "Argent" show up every summer for routine maintenance work.
