Summary

Excellence (ex-Wombat) has just undergone a major refit (late 2013) and sits in Florida looking good! She has been cruising between Florida and Maine over the past couple years with her new owners.

Original Posting:  We are excited about our newest, larger version of the popular MAGPIE from the Setzer Design Group. She boat is 6 1/2 feet longer and 1 1/2 feet wider than MAGPIE. This new length is most evident in the pilothouse area which is longer and affords a raised outside seating area aft of the pilothouse and above the cockpit. The twin forward cabins have been replaced with one large cabin allowing a queen sized bed athwartships. This new configuration will give her three staterooms and three heads. The interior joinery is similar to MAGPIE’s book matched veneers and custom inlays. We have used mahogany for the interior and teak on the pilot deck and exterior. The longer pilothouse will also allow the dinghy to be stored on the pilothouse roof using a hydraulic crane. She is powered with twin Caterpillar C-18s with 1,000 hp each giving her a top end of about 25 knots and a comfortable cruising speed of 20 knots. She has two 32kw Northern Lights generators. We launched this spectacular and beautiful yacht in August of 2004 on schedule and as expected.
