Summary
COYOTE, launched in mid-June 2001 as scheduled, is the third in our new series of jetboats we began with RUMBLE. There has been tremendous interest in this design and each boat carries more refinements of this new look. Frank Montgomery came to us after carefully looking at many boats in this size range. He watched as we completed RUMBLE last summer, and when we started HALCYONE, he liked her new exterior look. One of the Montgomery’s main criteria for the boat was a truly enclosed head and cockpit galley arrangement. COYOTE is fitted-out with a sink and two ice chests, one of which is DC powered on the aft side of the helm seat. The enclosed head has worked out quite nicely and offers more room than originally thought. We have lowered the windshield again and raked it further aft with 6’1″ headroom on centerline, giving the boat the sleekest look yet. She is equipped with Espar heating system and windlass. The Yanmar 350 will provide 30 knots at top end and an easy 25-knot cruise.
