Carinthia III is a beautiful, seaworthy and unique power yacht that has recently become available through the Lyman Morse brokerage. Currently moored behind the owner’s house in beautiful Muscongus Harbor, Maine, Carinthia III is one of just three Nauset 36 flybridge cruisers that was built with an extended hardtop. Laid up in 1989 as a 1990 model vessel, the yacht was designed by the Dean of the Downest designs, Royal Lowell, and built by Nauset Marine Inc in Orleans, Massachusetts. Commissioned for a distinguished and highly experienced owner, Carinthia III was finished to a very high level and is regarded as the nicest of the Nauset 36’s. Lovingly owned for the past two decades by a thoughtful and caring couple, the boat has been meticulously maintained and enjoyed regularly during the summers before being hauled out and professionally stored and maintained over the Maine winters.
Equipped with a 375 horsepower Caterpillar 3208 TA (turbo aftercooled) V8 engine mated to a 1.5:1 twin disc transmission, Carinthia III cruises at a comfortable 10 knots with her classic downeast design offering a hull shape that is as seaworthy and comfortable in chop as she is graceful and elegant. Equipped with a Westerbeke diesel generator as well as the alternator on the main engine, power will never be an issue either under way or on anchor or mooring. With heat, air, refrigeration, an electric head, electric windlass, dinghy with crane and spacious and comfortable accommodations, Carinthia III is simply a joy to spend time on. Currently maintained to a high level, Carinthia III is ready for her next owner and next adventure. Be it in the local waters, down the eastern seaboard, on the Great American Loop or at an idyllic anchor in the Caribbean, Carinthia III will get you there, and back, safely and in style.
