Pipeline 3, former Faamu Sami, is a custom 46' trimaran designed by Kurt Hughes Sailing Designs of Seattle, WA and built by Dick Vermeulen of Maine Cat in Bremen, ME.
There are berths for 6 aboard, a double and a single forward, and another double and a single aft.
There is a private, enclosed head with a head with a holding tank. The head is located to starboard aft of the main cabin.
Headroom is 6' under the beams and 7' elsewhere.
The galley is located amidships to port. It has a 2 burner propane stove and a double stainless steel sink. There is a fresh water electric pump and a salt water hand pump. Both the galley and head are plumbed for hot water though no hot water heater has been installed. There is an Isotherm CR42 refrigerator.
Every boat eventually finds the perfect owner, such was the case with Faamu Sami. Her new owner owns a 65' version in Hawaii and was looking for a Kurt Hughes designed multihull for cruising the east coast.
He was also pleased to know that we could reconfigure the hulls from the traditional canoe shape to more modern wave piercing shape. The new shape will not only give him a longer waterline but a smoother ride. We replaced the crazed hatches with new Lewmar Lexan hatches. We also put in a new cooktop and a small heater to keep everyone cozy during the New England fall cruising season.
