Erik Ekberg is one of those guys who is always thinking about boats and being on the water. At a young age, Erik and his family began summering in Northport, Maine, which is where he discovered his love of boating. Each summer you can find Erik sailing up and down Midcoast Maine. In fact, Erik’s real passion is racing, and over the last couple of years he has found success at the helm of his sailboat Flyer, an Ultimate 24 on which he competes in the Gulf of Maine.
Erik grew up in Massachusetts and attended Fairfield University where he graduated with a degree in Finance. Through Erik’s teenage years, he was a sailing instructor at the Northport Yacht Club, where he later became the sailing school’s Head Instructor and Program Director. Erik has also spent a significant time around boat yards, as he worked for Belmont Boat Works during their busy spring season, helping to ready and launch boats for the summer. Erik’s experiences in the marine industry have helped him understand the needs and desires of his clients when it comes to selling or buying a boat.
Currently, Erik works out of Lyman-Morse’s brokerage office in Camden, while residing in Northport. You will most likely be able to catch him at the many different regattas that occur in the Northeast.
