Inglesea is one of the more recent M42’s built and a one of a kind M42. Unlike all others, she was built with a unique two-cabin interior for family cruising. Using a set of clever pocket doors that slide athwartship, the forward v-berth cabin can be closed off from the main salon. By moving the head/shower unit forward, an additional aft cabin was incorporated in the design making the M42 perfect for both daysailing and family cruising.
Always maintained to the highest yachting standards, Inglesea is likely better than a new boat; having been thoroughly sea-trialed, yet lightly used for summer sailing only. She is the perfect “turn-key” boat for a family looking to go sailing quickly in what feels like a brand-new boat.

Layout and Design
Designed by the venerable Naval Architecture firm Sparkman & Stephens, the M42 was introduced shortly after the successfully smaller M36 daysailer. With the goal of offering the same simplicity of sailing and an over sized cockpit for up to 7 people, the M42 provides standing headroom below and full cruising accommodations with galley, head/shower, main salon dining area and sleeping accommodations. With all sailing control lines being led below decks and aft to the helmsman, the skipper has full control of the boat from the wheel. Raising the mainsail, unfurling the self-tacking jib, adjusting all sheets, vang, backstay and even reefing is all done from the helm by one person. Equipped with electric primary winches, the M42 is a stress-free sailing experience riddled with the highest quality materials and equipment. A home run design for both S&S and Morris Yachts.
