Summary
We launched the new yard utility boat early in 2004, built with the idea of towing and lugging lumber, dinghies and equipment. She is a great ride as all our 30’s are. We simply swapped the engine and the fuel tank positions, allowing the engine to be placed under the center console. The entire console lifts on an electric actuator (very fancy) to provide total access to the engine. The first runs, although very cold were flawless. (Yes, that’s snow on the shore behind us!) We have already put her to use towing floats around and commissioning moorings. The jet allows easy towing and the open, walk-out transom makes working on something in the water very simple. She runs at the usual 30 knot top end and cruises at 25 knots. Powered by a 370 Yanmar, she is built to the same specs as the other 30’s — RICHARD HENDERSON, COYOTE and others. We are delighted with how well she has worked out!
