Summary
This winter, our team at Lyman-Morse undertook a thoughtful refit of Cymbria, the Hood 35 LM Hull No. 2, tailoring her configuration to better suit the lifestyle of her new owner. The goal: enhance onboard comfort and usability while preserving the yacht’s performance pedigree and clean design language.
Working closely with our design and build team, the refit focused on improving interior functionality and comfort while enhancing the boat’s overall appeal. In the cockpit, the original aft bench and sun pad were reimagined into a versatile wraparound seating arrangement, while the pilothouse gained a new wraparound bench to port and a relocated galley to starboard for better flow and accessibility. Below deck, the layout was updated with a full-length single berth to port and a raised double berth to starboard, maximizing space and usability. To bring in more light and ventilation, two overhead hatches were added in the pilothouse and another above the head. Additional highlights of the project include cork decking throughout the pilothouse and cockpit for improved footing and timeless style, as well as a new canvas mooring cover and pilothouse enclosure with Strataglass windows.
This refit reflects the flexibility of the Hood 35 LM platform and the craftsmanship Lyman-Morse brings to every project—custom-tailored to how each owner wants to spend their time on the water.
