“Rebecca” (ex. Rainbow) is a Lyman-Morse Seguin 44 that has undergone a significant refit by the College of the Atlantic students and will be used as an offshore research vessel for COA. Offshore exploration is nothing new for the Lyman-Morse Seguin fleet, with several of these boats having circumnavigated and accumulating hundreds of thousands of ocean miles combined, in fact “Rebecca” already has one circumnavigation under her belt (going the wrong way around). It is so exciting to see a Lyman-Morse boat be given a new lease on life following a refit but to also see that “Rebecca” will be used to further our understandings of the oceans and marine organisms, makes us extremely proud!
