Summary

Wesmac 42 Relentless was purchased by the current owners in late 2013 and immediately underwent a significant refit to renew/update the vessel and to accommodate the owner’s wheelchair accessibility needs. With a new, larger transom door; new, hinged side boarding door; angled ramp with carbon fiber rolling base (by GMT), and custom handrails, the pristine 2009 Wesmac 42 Relentless could not be more safe, comfortable and accommodating to deliver more precious time on the water to her family and friends.

With two U-shaped dining/seating areas (one enclosed aft with removable Isenglass curtains, and the other in the climate-controlled main salon); an upper bar equipped with sink, refrigeration, and oversized counter space, Relentless is the perfect vessel for day use and entertaining.  An oversize centerline head/sink/counterspace (forward of the galley) is perfect for those who require/appreciate a space with more home-like proportions.

An electric (24v) wheelchair lift has been engineered (currently in storage and off the boat) for access to the head over 3-steps down from the main salon. Crew bunks to port of the galley are handy for boat deliveries (north & south) when owner/guests are not aboard. A fully equipped navigation center at the helm (to starboard) includes oversized GPS plotters interfaced with radar, transducers, satellite weather and more. Relentless is the perfect vessel for day trips and entertaining with thoughtful provisions for those in a wheelchair. Outstanding condition, captain-maintained, just commissioned after the fall service/yard period — and ready to enjoy in the waters of your choice!

REFIT: 2013/2014 (8-months & $1M)

The refit in 2013 was very extensive and essentially required the interior to be removed and rebuilt in teak wood.  Everything from the pilothouse door aft was new with exception of the CableMaster shore power cord system.  The main engine, genset, air conditioning units (2) and tanks are original.  Additionally, the Pilothouse dining table, window blinds, wall sconces, compass, horn, bow and stern thrusters, throttle controls, chest freezer are the only items that remained aboard after the refit.  Everything is new down below in the sleeping, head and galley areas.

Refit details –  (Electronics)

  • New Chart plotters/radar/Fishfinder sounder, Wifi, 12v charger/inverter/24v charger for wheelchair lift/24v battery bank and 12 v battery bank (house and start batteries), Sonos stereo/sound system, SAT radio and Weather, mast-mounted weather station, AIS and custom Stidd seats
  • (Exterior refit details) –  Added swim ladder, wheel chair-accessible side door and removable aft transom doors (great for tuna fishing/tender storage & watersports), bronze anchor windlass (hydraulic), bronze bow sprit, exhaust silencer interfaced to main engine, new engine room intake and exhaust fans, extended bronze cabin top, toe rail and rub rails, added bronze cleats, fairleads/chocks, new outdoor shower with hot and cold water and new bench seating in stern.
  • Her hull was Awlgripped Flag Blue with new gold leaf name and hail.  The pilothouse was veneered with high gloss varnished teak.  Cabin top was Awl-gripped Oyster white with non-skid applied to paint.

In summary, Relentless was thoroughly updated with equipment and made into a highly efficient and safe wheel chair-accessible vessel for day trips and entertaining.

ACCOMMODATIONS

After the refit, the interior layout changed dramatically for use as a day boat.  The transom was modified to accommodate a ramp and wheelchair for stern boarding as well as side boarding with similar hinged-opening concept.  Aft transom doors are easily removed for sport fishing, hauling a tender, paddle board etc aboard.  To port is a u-shaped dining area with fixed table that seats 6 comfortably.  Large Isenglass drop curtains enclose the entire space when weather is cool or roll up during warmer times.  To starboard and just aft of the pilothouse door is a front opening electric refrigerator & chest freezer.  Additional bench seating is aft and to stbd. near the new large side opening door.

An additional seating area is just forward of the transom and provides a great space to be in the fresh air or for storage of water toys, paddle boards etc.

Amidship and forward of the pilothouse sliding door is the primary salon and dining area.  A large dining table is fixed to port with seating for 6.  To starboard is a wet bar and ample counter space for food preparation, and drink/bar accessories.

To port of the starboard helm station are two electric Stidd chairs (one with ability to adjust height and swivel 180 degrees to dining table and includes custom drink holder and dining tray.)  The pilothouse is surrounded by large opening windows that provide excellent visibility or can be closed with shades for privacy.  A third Stidd seat to starboard behind the helm also adjusts up/down and fore/aft manually.

The Galley, head and crew quarters are accessed to port of the helm, via three steps (down) or via an electric wheelchair lift (currently removed and in storage.

Two large opening teak doors reveal the wheelchair accessible head, while two pipe berths to port and ample lockers and storage are available for crew deliveries or guest napping.  The well equipped galley is to starboard and includes many cabinets, stainless steel sink, refrigeration, microwave oven and two burner propane stove.

Engine and genset are accessed through opening doors in the main salon sole.
