Conceived from a lineage of the traditional Maine lobster boat, the Maine Island 46 distinguishes itself as its own breed of yacht combining traditional downeast lines with a contemporary style.  This exciting new line of custom powerboats, initially conceived by Paul Wren, is from the drawing boards of the talented designer and naval architect, Doug Zurn

The Maine Island 46 is distinguished by her aggressively angled stem, rounded European transom and generous tumblehome aft. Her extended pilothouse with 7' headroom, large cockpit and ample seating arrangements make this express cruiser the ideal yacht for entertaining guests or escaping for a weekend with the entire family. Of composite sandwich construction, her hull will be lightweight and exceptionally strong. She promises to be a swift cruiser attaining 50 knots with exceptional performance and looks to match.

Accommodations below are designed to provide a comfortable environment for four adults for occasional overnights. A large V-berth dominates the forward master stateroom. The berth conceals abundant stowage beneath. Additional space is offered via hanging lockers to port and starboard. A guest stateroom features an innovative L-shaped high/low bunk arrangement, serving to conserve space while still offering 6' 6" usable bunk space. Between the two cabins to port is a head with shower. To starboard is a galley with plenty of counter space, cabinetry and drawers, a stainless steel sink featuring pressurized hot and cold water system with filtration, a 2.4 cubic foot refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. Just aft of the galley, a custom electrical panel allows for safe monitoring and control of all the vessel's onboard systems.

The Maine Island 46 achieves a healthy top end speed of 50 knots thanks to MAN's newest introduction, a 1500hp V-12, coupled to a Hamilton 422 waterjet. Though not the 70-knot speedster initially envisioned by Paul Wren, the Maine Island 46 has evolved into a highly versatile day boat or weekender featuring inviting accommodations, steady sea legs and a spirit  that invites the captain to open up the throttles and let this beauty strut her stuff.
