We launched NEW MORNING, an exciting  54 offshore cruiser on May 15, 2008,  in under two years of construction.  We built this ocean cruiser for a couple who are experienced sailors from California. The new 54' design from Chuck Paine is intended for far offshore cruising with excellent speed potential.

The tall and powerful, fractional rig and easily tacked 106% jib is balanced by a moderate draft bulb keel for controllable speed in all conditions. The rudder is of carbon fiber and of up to the latest in design performance.

The designers and owners have developed a truly unique open plan interior with the feeling of spaciousness akin to that of a much larger yacht. Sightlines are excellent from galley to nav area and throughout the yacht when the doors are left open, as they will most of the time, this being a single couple design. The cabin sole is on a single level with no steps to trip on. The yacht’s joiner work is in a variety of figured woods of light color.

Lyman-Morse 54She is equipped with excess of tankage for both fuel and water for extended cruising. In addition, solar panels will be fitted on top the hard dodger and on the cabin top forward of it, and no generator will be used. Air conditioning will be available using shore power in marinas. A stairway rather than the usual ladder gives easy access between the cockpit’s sheltered forward half and the main accommodations.
