Patriot/Pilothouse Hinckley 70'

Use buttons below to view more information about Patriot/Pilothouse Hinckley 70'.

PATRIOT was custom built and designed to be the ultimate "floating home" with all the modern amenities. She offers comfort and safety on long offshore ocean passages with great sailing performance, particularly in light airs. Since her launching she has been in service, and constantly maintained in new boat condition by her captain and a full crew. At the beginning and end of each season she is hauled out, inspected and all necessary maintenance and refinishing completed. The result is a vessel that is a head turner in any harbor in the world. A fine example of a Hinckley Sou’wester 70 center cockpit raised salon sloop. She features varnished teak on her cabin sides, as well as natural teak decks and cabin tops, to give her the appearance of an old world, traditional yacht. Below decks, her exquisite, raised panel varnished cherry interior complete the picture. Throughout this vessel traditional looks combine with the latest in technology and amenities to create an elegant and comfortable environment for eight.

Fall 2015

Patriot is one of the five Hinckley 70’ sailboats built by our friends to the east. She has spent many years in our care.  Over the past years the owner has done a number of upgrades to her as his cruising horizons expand to the Mediterranean.

Interior changes include modifications to the navigation station. We installed new teak panels to accommodate the updated electronic equipment; a new navigator’s seat; made minor changes to the aft cabin.  On deck, there were a number of small details sorted out, improved or repaired including; deck repairs, swapping out some deck hardware; and modified both the cockpit table and helm seat.

To give her that shine, we gave a couple of new coats of interior and exterior varnish,  re-did the gold leaf cove stripe; then polished the topsides  paint and applied Permanon and a fresh coat of anti-fouling bottom paint.

The big tasks were replacing the generator and installing a shore power converter.  These upgrades will assure Patriot can plug into shore power wherever she berths in the Mediterranean or has a reliable quiet generator when she is anchored in distant harbors.

We wish her a great winter season and a fabulous summer in the Mediterranean! We will see you the next time.
