MAINESTAY is a 42' Hunt designed custom powerboat we built in 1999. The sixth boat out of the same mold for our very successful line of 42s including INTOLERANCE and RADIO WAVES, MAINESTAY reflects many refinements of a great design and incorporates several qualities the original owners liked from their previous Bristol 47.7 sloop. She is elegantly laid out with a red birch interior, and teak and holly soles. The galley is down with a V-berth in the forward cabin. There are two helm stations with a simple flybridge that has a bench seat meant for four people. When she was launched, Cabot described her as "similar to an elegant and great handling sports car like a BMW or Mercedes." She is quiet, easy to handle, and has a top speed of 30 knots with twin Caterpillar 3126s @ 420 hp.

Accommodations

Starting forward is the elegant master stateroom, lined with varnished wood ceilings with V berth, hanging locker, numerous drawers and teak and holly sole.  Stainless steel opening ports and a Bomar hatch supply great ventilation and Espar heat keeps things warm and dry when the weather is less than perfect.

Just aft and to starboard is the head with Vacu Flush head, sink, vanity and stall shower.

Aft and to port is the richly appointed galley that features a Force 10 four burner propane stove with oven and broiler,  high polished double stainless steel sinks, Corian counter tops with custom ceramic inlay, generous and thoughtful storage as well as a microwave oven and a residential size upright freezer and refrigerator with varnished wood door panels to match the surrounding bulkhead.

Up in the main salon you will find the lower helm to starboard with a helm door immediately outboard.  In the main salon one finds two barrel chairs to starboard and a long L settee to port with a hand crafted trestle table in between.  All of the salon is trimmed out and the seating surfaces of the settee and barrel chairs are done in Ultra Suede.  The teak and holly sole is finished in satin varnish.
