Puffin was designed as a race boat of 1969 with a large inventory of sails, eight single berths, efficient galley, two heads, and two companionways. Built by Aage Walsted of Denmark, she has only had three owners, was extensively raced in the Alantic and Caribbean with several transatlantic races and some european races. She was designed to be lifted by crane from a single point for loading on a ship and has a very well designed internal structure for mast, keel and trim tab. Bilge areas were stripped and re-painted –new metal ss frames were refit and added, cockpit and stern re-built, internal metal frame to take the load of the backstay off the transom, all exterior and interior varnish work was stripped and re-varnished. All areas in transom and bow finished and re-varnished or painted. Topsides faired and finished with Awlgrip. New carbon mast and pole with Rod rigging. Large inventory of sails – some old and some new.
Puffin is in excellent shape – perhaps in many respects better than new. She is of very solid construction and extremely strong, yet only 25,000 lbs. An excellent performer with a breakthrough keel of 1969 –perhaps a forerunner of the swan 44’s and Seguin 44’s
With the new mast 5’ higher than the original she can be sailed either as a sloop or yawl –
The old mast is still available if original mast is required.

CUSHIONS: All new white naugahyde. WINCHES: Lewmar, Two primaries P&S Lewmar 48 self tailing. Two secondaries P&S Barient 28 self tailing. Two Lewmar self tailers on mast. WINDLASS: Lewmar Vertical. PAINT: Awlgrip white new 2008 - bottom wooded new 2008. PROPELLOR: Gori. STOVE: Luke ñ three burner. BATTERIES: 1 Optima 110 AH engine start, 3 Optima 110 AH. CHARGING: Hart monitoring and shore power charging system, 100 amp Balmar alternator on engine. ELECTRONICS: Raytheon wind and sailing instruments new 2009, Garmin GPS 276C w/plotter, Northstar GPS. ANCHOR: 35lbs anchor w/ 25í 3/8 chain and 300í ¾î anchor rode, Second 300í anchor rode with second Danforth anchor and Luke knockdown 100lbs. TANKAGE: Water two tanks under berth P&S 40 gals each Extra tank under cockpit next to fuel, 30 gals. One fuel tank under cockpit, 50 gals.
