| Accommodations Discovery has four staterooms, all with high quality mahogany and teak joinerwork that is seen throughout the Yacht. The Master Stateroom was assembled and brought on board in one piece. It has an ensuite bath. The queen berth headboard has a rope and scallop detailing that speaks of perfection. The Herreshoff style of cabinetryand trim is very inviting especially whenc oupled with the soft curves and book matched cabinet fronts and drawers. Long vanities and a desk compliment the Owner's space. Ample storage, cedar hanging lockers, opening ports, and good headroom add to the ambience. Three other staterooms offer a side-by-side twin arrangement, another double berth cabin on port and an over-an-under cabin that can be used for children or crew. Two staterooms can be opened up with a sliding door to be used as one, or down-below entertaining. Entire boat is air-conditioned. Discovery can sleep eight. |

Salon and Dining This handsome space began as a thougt in the Owner's mind and was exampled by similar saloons created by John Munford and the Herreshoff legacy. Excellent visibility was a demand that needed to be innovated while being seated. A long, printed sofa on portside has end tables and subtle lighting and a hi-low table for cocktails and dining or simple convenience. On starboard is a C-shaped raised settee with Hunter Green leather cushions also sporting a cabin sole of teak and holly. The entire interior is varnished and the mahogany valance above the saloon is curved to three different radiuses to look like one piece of wood. No screws, fastenings or bungs are visible throughout the Yacht. All cabinet fronts, panels and doors are book-matched for beauty. A mahogany staircase stretches from the pilothouse down two decks to the master stateroom. Galley cabinets and end tables were sent to Heritage House in England to be inlaid and Lyman-Morse used ebony to accent their work also. Considering that there was a full-scale mockup interior used to fine-tune the detail and spacing, it is easy to understand why Discovery is virtually a masterpiece that appeals ergonomically and aesthetically to those who admire traditional yachts.

Pilothouse Although referred to as a thing of beauty, Discovery design is not be underestimated in terms of function. Discovery is a robust, fast cruising boat with state-of-the-art electronics and systems. Helm visibility is excellent all around. The boat can be backed into a slip without standing up. Helm station includes a computer screen that can monitor the radar, GPS plotter and the engine room video camera. Everywhere you look, there is a window and some are sliding to allow fresh air and light to enhance the space. Because of design, bow rise is minimal and therefore visibility is always maintained. Instrument layout is well thought out: navigation, communications, and monitoring of systems and engines are easily accomplished by the helmsman, reducing operator fatigue while running. The pilothouse layout allows the operator to be part of the fun, enjoying the social aspects of having guests on board. Twin helm benches face forward followed by twin L shaped settees that allow guests to enjoy the view and still communicate with the operator, or oversee any activity in the cockpit. This area's stern can be closed off in inclimate weather.
